Infinite Bits Miami Convention 2009

I was a speaker at Infinite Bits, Miami’s first video game convention this past weekend and it was a blast. Not as big – or loud – as E3, GDC etc, but still loud all the same.

Though there aren’t very many (I can count them on one hand actually) game development companies down here in sunny South Florida, we have an ample supply of geeks and gamers – always a good combination.

If you live in South Florida, please join the local IGDA Miami chapter and get involved in the community.

GameSpot – The New Hatchet Job

GameSpot ceased to be relevant in the industry back when Reagan was president. But that hasn’t stopped them from continuing their rather controversial ways of allienating not only their own readers (who have since taken off) but also the very hand that feeds.

So, they’re back at it – again. Only this time, they not only pick on the wrong developer, but also go totally overboard. And once again, as with their other controversies, the revealing results point to someone sleeping at the wheel and letting the fox run the hen house by putting out suspicious and shoddy work. Read all about it over here.
