Yeah, but I don't believe those who were laid off, are high caliber engineers.

Star Citizen isn't a game. It's a TV show about a bunch of characters making a game. It's basically "This is Spinal Tap" - except people think the band is real.

Even if we assume they are really talented engineers, does it help Star Citizen in any relevant way?

And reading the article:
The staff were a part of Crytek's in-house publishing and marketing team.

publishing and marketing does not seem like an engineering job.
But if they take the place of Sandi Star Citizen could be better off maybe?  :smug: :sandance:

I don't think they need publishing and marketing teams; especially not in Germany.
Star Citizen isn't a game. It's a TV show about a bunch of characters making a game. It's basically "This is Spinal Tap" - except people think the band is real.
